Dear Faithful of St. Paul Cathedral:
It is with bright sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the repose into eternal life of Dn. Basil Frenchek.
Fr. Dn. Basil passed away painlessly and peacefully from complications related to his cancer this afternoon.
The funeral arrangements for Dn. Basil are as follows: On Friday, 1/23, Dn. Basil will lie in repose at St. Paul Cathedral from 5:00PM until 7:00PM; atwe will celebrate the funeral service. morning, will celebrate the Divine Liturgy for Dn. Basil’s repose followed by internment at Holy Dormition monastery. A meal will be served at the monastery following internment.
O God of spirits and of all flesh, Who has trampled down death and overthrown the Devil, and given life to Your world, do You, the same Lord, give rest to the souls of Your departed servant, the Deacon Basil, in a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose, where all sickness, sighing, and sorrow have fled away. Pardon every transgression which he has committed, whether by word or deed or thought. For You are a good God and You love mankind; because there is no man who lives yet does not sin, for You only art without sin, Your righteousness is to all eternity, and Your word is truth. For You are the Resurrection, the Life, and the Repose of Your servants who have fallen asleep, O Christ our God, and unto You we ascribe glory, together with Your Father, who is from everlasting, and Your all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, now and ever unto ages of ages. Amen.
